Abstract:Objective To explore the changes of protein expression related to ERK signaling pathway and to investigate the role of ERK signaling pathway in the pathogenesis of epilepsy. Methods The experiment subjects were divided into two groups, Tremor rats and Wistar rats. The anomalous changes of the contents of ERK protein and p-ERK protein in the two groups were detected through the method of Western Blot. Results 48 rats were identified by PCR, out of which 31 were Tremor rats. ERK and p-ERK protein were expressed in the cortex of the Tremor rats and Wistar rats. Protein content of ERK and p-ERK in Tremor rats were 0. 140 3 and 0. 7344 respectively. Protein content of ERK and p-ERK in Wistar rats were 0. 170 9 and 0. 975 4 respectively. Conclusions The expression of ERK1/2 and p-ERK protein in the cortex of Tremor rats was significantly decreased, indicating that the ERK signal pathway was in-hibited in the epileptic state.
