Clinical Application of Micro-implant Anchorage in Orthodontic Treatment
LI Xueqi
Abstract:Objective To explore and analyze the clinical efficacy of the micro-implant anchorage in orthodontic treatment. Methods From January 2012 to July 2014, 60 cases of patients who received orthodontic treatment were selected, including 33 cases with maxillary protrusion and 27 cases with teeth uncovered by lips. By random number table, all selected cases were divided into mi-cro-implant anchorage group and non micro-implant anchorage group, each with 30 cases. Postoperative adverse reactions and treat-ment efficacy of two groups were compared. Results The total complication rate of micro-implant anchorage group was significantly lower than that of non-implant group (P<0. 05). Both molars shifting distance and shifting distance from maxillary central teeth to lip in micro-implant anchorage group were significantly great compared with non-implant group (P<0. 05). Conclusion Compared with non micro-implant anchorage, micro-implant anchorage has a sound clinical efficacy in orthodontic treatment, and therefore can be widely applied.
