On the Relationship Between Serum VCAM-1, FGF2 and Diabetic Foot

Abstract:Objective To investigate the diagnostic significance of the detection of vascular cell adhesion molecule -1 (VCAM-1) and fibroblast growth factor 2 (FGF2) on diabetic foot. Methods According to Wagner classification method, 120 patients with diabetic foot (DF) in our hospital were randomly divided into three groups, namely group A (Wagner grade III, 37 cases), group B of (Wagner grade IV, 42 cases) and group C (Wagner grade V, 41 cases).VCAM-1, FGF2, fasting blood glucose and glycosylat-ed hemoglobin (HbAlc) levels in three groups were compared before and after treatment. Results Before treatment, levels of VCAM-1, FGF2, fasting blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc) of the three groups were compared and there was statistically significant difference (P<0.05).After treatment, levels of VCAM-1, FGF2, fasting blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbAlc) were significantly improve, with statistically significant difference (P<0.05).The levels of VCAM-1, FGF2 and Wagner were positively correlated (r=0.621, P>0.05, with significant difference). Conclusion Serum VCAM-1 and FGF2 levels direct-ly affect the DF blood glucose level and wound healing, the detection during treatment is helpful to b evaluate the prognosis of the dis-ease.
