Abstract:Objective To investigate the curative effect of the laser probing of lacrimal passage combined with lacrimal duct intu-bation surgery in the treatment of obstruction of lacrimal passage. Methods 80 patients (140 eyes) with lacrimal duct obstruction from department of ophthalmology in our hospital from March 2012 to March 2014 were selected as research objects and were divided according to the method of operation into the study group ( 40 cases with 70 eyes, treated with laser lacrimal probing combined with lacrimal intubation) and the control group (40 cases with 70 eyes, simply treated with laser lacrimal probing). All cases were followed up for 6 months, and the curative effects and the postoperative complications of both groups were observed. Results Total effective rate in the study group was 95. 71%, which was significantly higher than that (82. 86%) of the control group (P<0. 05). The differ-ence of the complications incidence in both groups was not statistically significant (P>0. 05). Conclusion The curative effect of the laser probing of lacrimal passage combined with lacrimal duct intubation surgery in the treatment of obstruction of lacrimal passage is ef-fective and the operation is simple with fewer complications, which is worthy of clinical application and popularization.
