Abstract:Objective To study hemorrhage of upper digestive tract caused by esophageal variceal ligation in the treatment of liv-er cirrhosis and provide guidance for clinical treatment. Methods 320 cases with upper gastrointestinal bleeding caused by liver cir-rhosis in our hospital from December 2011 to December 2013 were selected as the research object. They were randomly divided into ob-servation group and control group, with 160 cases in each group. The control group was given routine drug treatment, while the obser-vation group was given endoscopic variceal ligation. Then the efficacy, safety and compliance rate of the two groups were compared and statistically analyzed. Results There were no cases of death in the study, with 88 cases of remarkable improvement, 58 cases of ef-fectiveness, and 14 cases being invalid in the observation group. Thus the total effective rate of the observation group was 91. 2%, much higher than that of the control group whose total efficiency rate was 79. 4%. So the difference was statistically significant ( P<0. 05 ) . The incidence of adverse reactions in the observation group was 10%, with no significant difference compared with the control group ( P>0. 05 ) . The treatment compliance rate of observation group was 92. 5%, which was better than 81. 9% of the control group, with significant difference (P<0. 05). Conclusion In the treatment of liver cirrhosis caused by upper digestive tract hemor-rhage, compared with drug therapy, esophageal variceal ligation has significant curative effect with its higher safety and treatment com-pliance, and thus it is suitable for clinical application.
