Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical curative effect of the treatment of periodontitis and pericoronitis by topical applica- <br> tion of tindazole lozenges. Methods The patients were randomly divided into two groups, the control group and the observation group. The control group was treated with peroral tindazole while the observation group was treated by topical application of tindazole lozenges. Then, the comparison was made between the two groups. Results The effective rate of therapy for periodontitis and perico-ronitis in the observation group was 100%, which was significantly higher than that in the control group by 83. 3% , with significant statistical difference (χ2=3. 7, P<0. 05). The effective rate of periodontitis and pericoronitis was 94. 4%, significantly higher than that with periodontitis or with pericoronitis alone (χ2=3. 6, 3. 9, P<0. 016 7). The incidence of adverse reaction of the observation group was 4. 2% while the rate in the control group was 29. 2%. Statistically, they were significantly different (χ2=3. 9, P<0. 05). Conclusion Topical application of tindazole lozenges in the treatment of periodontitis and periarthritis is safe and convenient with dis-tinct curative effect and less adverse reaction, so it is worth popularizing.
