Diagnostic Value of Brain Natriuretic Peptide in Pediatric Heart Failure
WANG Heng
Abstract:Objective To investigate the changes of plasma level and the diagnostic value of brain natriuretic peptide in pediatric heart failure. Methods According to heart failure grading standard, 80 cases of children with heart failure were randomly divided into group A (I), group B (II), group C (Ⅲ) and group D (Ⅳ) (20 cases in each group). The BNP, cardiac troponin, oxygen satu-ration, heart rate of patients after 1 week's treatment were detected and compared to evaluate the sensitivity. Results The BNP, car-diac troponin, oxygen saturation, heart rate of children with heart failure increased with grading, P<0.05, there were significant differ-ences and positive correlation. The same results emerged in patients after 1 week's treatment. Conclusion Changes of plasma BNP level can provide prognostic information for clinical treatment of pediatric heart failure and evaluate treatment quickly and accurately, which has reliable significance.
