Evaluation of the Differences Between Endoscopic Biopsy and Pathological Diagnosis of Gastric Cancer

Abstract:Objective This paper aims at comparing the differences between endoscopic biopsy and pathological diagnosis of gas-tric cancer patients. Methods 145 patients diagnosed with gastric cancer from the First Affiliated Hospital of Liaoning Medical Uni-versity were chosen in this experiment. Stomach endoscope for preoperative examination was used to all of the patients before surgical operations. Then we compared the differences between endoscopic biopsy and postoperative pathological diagnosis of gastric cancer to find the conclusion. Results The diagnosis rate of endoscopic biopsy reached 85.5%. In the aspect of differentiation, the detection rate of differentiated tumors was 83.5%, which was obviously higher than the rate of poorly differentiated tumors which was only 33.3%. In the aspect of histologic type, the detection rate of adenocarcinoma was 90.1%, which is higher than that of other types of tumors. Conclusion It is effective to perform case analysis and find pathological changes by endoscopic biopsy at the stage of preoper-ative diagnosis. It should be widely accepted and applied as the basis for surgical diagnosis.
