Abstract:Objective To analyze the postoperative complications after stenting in patients with advanced esophageal cancer and preventive measures. Methods 40 cases of advanced esophageal cancer undergoing stenting were chosen and given clinical, radio-graphic examination and telephone interview, which aims to analyze the postoperative complications of these patients. Results 39 ca-ses of the chosen 40 patients' stent implantation were successful, thus the success rate of one-time placement was 97.5%. According to the followed survey within 4 to 24 months, one case had postoperative slow heart rate, 35 cases suffered from chest pain and discom-fort, one case with bleeding, two cases resulting in stent migration, two cases with reflux esophagitis, and one case with perforation. Conclusion Esophageal stenting is a safe and reliable method of advanced esophageal cancer treatment. But the surgery may produce a variety of complications, so close postoperative monitoring is needed, and proactive effective treatment methods should be adopted to reduce or minimize the occurrence of complications and alleviate the adverse effects of complications of the patients.
