The Clinical Evaluation of Esophageal Stent in the Treatment of Patients with Advanced Esophageal Carcinoma

Abstract:Objective To explore the clinical evaluation of esophageal stent in the treatment of patients with advanced esophageal carcinoma. Methods 40 cases of patients treated in our hospital with advanced esophageal carcinoma were analyzed retrospectively. Results All the 40 patients were installed esophageal stents successfully, 3 days later, the patients reached the expected situation of the stent expansion, among whom restenosis occurred in 14 cases and a second stent was installed, two stents were installed once in 18 cases, three stents were installed for three times respectively in 5 cases, 4 stents were installed once in 3 cases. Various intervening methods were adopted to prevent postoperative complications and comprehensive intervening methods proved to be clinically effective. Conclusion The comprehensive intervening methods are effective in the prevention of postoperative complications.
