Abstract:Objective To evaluate the efficacy and safety of bevacizumab combined with docetaxel/cisplatin ( DP) in treatment of advanced non-squamous non-small cell lung cancer ( NSNSCLC) . Methods 75 patients with advanced NSNSCLC were divided into two groups:the treatment group (40 cases) treated with bevacizumab (7.5 mg/kg) targeted therapy combined with DP chemotherapy, which was applied every three weeks till disease progression, and the control group (35 cases) treated with docetaxel/cisplatin (DP) for 4 cycles in all, with 21 days in each cycle. The response rate, side effects and one year survival rate of the two groups of patients with NSCLC were evaluated. Results The response rate (RR) of the treatment group was higher than that of the control group (60%VS 37.1%, P=0.048). Compared with the control group, the one year overall survival rate of the treatment group improved signifi-cantly (57.5% VS 34.3%, P=0.044). There was no statistical difference between the major adverse events of the two groups, ex-cept the hypertension (P=0.040). Conclusion Bevacizumab combined with DP chemotherapy is a promising and safe treatment to improve the RR and the one year overall survival of patients with advanced NSNSCLC, which can be the first treatment therapy.
