A Correlation Study Between Blood Urea Nitrogen/Creatinine and Early Neurological Function Deterioration in Ischemic Stroke Patients

Abstract：Objective To explore the correlation between BUN/Cr and early neurological deterioration ( END ) in ischemic stroke patients. Method 92 acute cerebral infarction patients were divided into the END group and the non-END group accordingly. Clinical data and relative risk factors were compared between the two groups. Result 20 cases (21.7%) worsened (END group) and 72 cases (78.3%) remained stable (non-END group). BUN/Cr >15 showed significant difference between the two groups (P=0.015). Logistic regression analysis shows that BUN/Cr>15 has good correlation with END in ischemic stroke patients (P=0.032). Conclusion BUN/Cr>15 has correlation with END in ischemic stroke patients.
