Abstract:Objective To evaluate the risk factors and prognostic impact of stress-hyperglycemia after acute myocardial infarction ( AMI) . Methods 110 patients without diabetes who had accepted PCI after AMI were analyzed, who were treated in the Emergency Department of Weifang People's Hospital from January 2012 till June 2012. Stress-hyperglycemia was defined as the fast glucose≥7.0 mmol/l. The clinical data and the incidence rate of major adverse cardiac events between the two groups were compared. ResultsStress-hyperglycemia occurred in 61 cases out of 110 (61/110, 55.45%). There was not significant difference in such factors as age, gender and hypertension between the two groups. Compared with the common plasma glucose group, there was significant differ-ence in WBC, inferior-wall infarction, malignant arrhythmia, cardiac shock, heart functionII-Ⅳ and mortality (P<0.05). Conclu-sion Stress-hyperglycemia were associated with such risk factors as WBC, inferior-wall infarction and heart function II-Ⅳ, and high fasting glucose in AMI patients of emergency PCI without diabetes prompts recent poor prognosis.
