Abstract:Objective To explore the efficacy of fluconazole on the prevention of intravenous hyperalimentation complicated by infection among premature infants. Methods 48 premature infants with intravenous hyperalimentation in the hospital were divided into two groups-the experimental group and the control group, 24 cases in each group. The control group were not treated with medicines to prevent complicated infection while the experimental group were treated with intravenous drip.Infants of both groups were observed in terms of infection. Results The fungal infection rate of experimental group was 12.50% (3/24), remarkably lower than that of the control group, which is 37.50%(9/24).The difference of fungal infection rate between the two groups was of statistical significance (χ2=4.000, P<0.05).The family satisfaction of premature infants from the experimental group was 74.16% (19/24), remarkably higher than that of the control group, which is 41.67% (10/24).The difference was of statistical significance (P<0.05).The inci-dence of adverse reactions of experimental group was 4.16% ( 1/24 ) , which is greatly lower than that of the control group 25.00%(6/24).The difference was statistically significant (χ2=2.6760, P>0.05).Conclusion When preventing intravenous hyperali-mentation complicated by infection among premature infants, it is very effective to use fluconazole through intravenous drips, which can bring down the fungal infection rate and enhance family satisfaction of the infants. Therefore, this method should be clinically applied due to its high-security and less side effect.
