Abstract:Object ive To observe the clinical effects of Xiyanping injection in combination with levofloxacin to cure chronic ob-structive pulmonary diseases with infection. Methods 82 patients were randomly divided into two groups. All patients were treated with controlled oxygen therapy, antibiotics, corticosteroids, bronchodilators, expectorants, while at same timecorrecting water electro-lyte imbalance and acid-base imbalance etc.The treatment group ( n=41 ) was cured with Xiyanping injection in combination with levofloxacin .The control group ( n=41 ) was cured with levofloxacin .The control group and treatment group were all treated for 10 days, and the clinical effect and bacterial clearance were compared. Results In the control group, 16 cases recovered, 6 cases were effective, 15 cases progressed, 3 cases were invalid, and the effective rate was 55.0%.In the treatment group, 20 cases recovered, 14 cases were effective, 3 cases progressed, 5 cases were invalid, and the effective rate is 80.9%, there was statistically significant difference in the effective rate (χ2=8.571, P=0.003) between the treatment group and the control group.Of 82 patients, cultured pathogens were cultured in 52 cases (26 cases in each group). After treatment, there was between the two groups statistically signifi-cant difference ( P<0.01 ) in the bacterial clearance of Klebsiella pneumoniae , haemophilus influenzae ,Pseudomonas aeruginosa , Staphylococcus aureus, escherichia coli and streptococcus pneumoniae .The total bacterial clearance of the treatment group was 69.2% and the total bacterial clearance of the control group was 38.5%.There was no statistical significance in the bacterial clearance of staphylococcus epidermidis and catarrhal coccus of the two groups ( P>0.05 ) .Conclusion The effect of Xiyanping injection in combination with levofloxacin in the treatment of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with infection was satisfactory , and there was no significant adverse reaction.
