Abstract:In order to design and investigate a new fabricated joint between concrete-filled square steel tubular column and steel beam,3D nonlinear numerical models are established. The effects of axial compression ratio, concrete intensity, tube thickness and beam height on the capacity, stiffness degradation and ductility of the fabricated joint are analyzed respectively. The results show that the load distributing of the joint is reasonable and stress concentration occurs at beam ends.It avoids the rupture of beam flank and steel tube and satisfies the designed criterion of weak beam and strong column. It also indicates that axial compression ratio and tube thickness are significant factors for the hysteretic performance of joint.
