Application of seismic tomography to coal characterization
Abstract:AbIn recent years, coal has becomed important energy resources to support national economy. Therefore, how to describe the characterization of coal seam accurately is also important in estimating the the remaining reserve in subsurface. Seismic wave is an very important parameter to characterize reservoir's properties of coal bed methane as well as quality of coal. In this paper, we show methodology to image the subsurface velocity using seismic tomography. Data are processed by Fresenl interpolated wavepath (FIW) wide -band inversion tomography. It is very useful for characterizing the coals seam as well as to detect the position of intrusion body.
