Abstract:To enhance the overall performance of micro-surfacing mixtures,a high-performance modified emulsified asphalt was prepared through the compounding of waterborne epoxy resin(WER)and styrene-butadiene rubber(SBR).Its traditional physical properties, compatibility, and microscopic modification mechanism were studied, along with an exploration into the durability of the micro-surfacing mixture. The results indicate that the synergistic effect of WER and SBR improves the traditional physical properties of emulsified asphalt, demonstrating good compatibility among the three components. The optimal dosages of WER and SBR are 15%and 3%,respectively.The compound-modified micro-surfacing mixture exhibites significantly superior resistance to water damage, wear, and shear compared to single-modified counterparts, suggesting that WER synergistically combined with SBR fully leverages their complementary and synergistic advantages. No new absorption peak appears in the composite modified emulsified asphalt, indicating that WER system,SBR,and emulsified asphalt are physically blended.
