Abstract:Dynamic biaxial compressive tests under different stress ratios(1.00 ∶ 0,1.00 ∶ 0.25,1.00 ∶ 0.50,1.00 ∶ 0.75,1.00 ∶ 1.00)and different strain rates(10-5,10-4,10-3,10-2 s-1)on steel fiber reinforced concrete specimens with 0%,1%,2%,3% steel fiber contents(by volume) were conducted. The influences of stress ratio, strain rate and content of steel fibers on the mechanical properties of concrete such as ultimate compressive strength and stress-strain curve were investigated. The results show that the compressive strength of concrete under various conditions increases with the increase of strain rate. The ultimate compressive strength of various steel fiber reinforced concretes reaches the maximum value at stress ratio of 1.00 ∶ 0.50.In addition, steel fiber reinforced concrete exhibits much better toughness when compared with the normal plain concrete.
