Preparation of the Urethane-methacrylate Macromer and It's Curing Behavior with Styrene

Abstract：Urethane-methacrylate macromer was prepared by reacting tolylene diisocynate(TDI) and
polyethyleneglycol(PEG), followed by end-capping with 2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate(HEMA) in the
presence of dibutytin dilaurate(DBTL) as catalyst. The macromer polymerized with styrene(St) in the presence of free radical initiator to obtain a crosslinked transparent copolymer. The influence of several factors on the preparation of the macromer was studied. In addition, the curing behavior of the macromer with styrene was also investigated.
