Expansive Property of Double-expansive Moderate Heat Portland Cement Concrete
Abstract：Double-expansive moderate heat Portland cement contains both ettringite and periclase ex-pansive sources. In this paper, the autogenous volume deformation and prestress of the concrete pre-pared with this cement were tested. The results show that concrete prepared with double-expansivemoderate heat Portland cement has both the early and the late expansion, and can produce prestresswhen restricted, therefore may compensate the shrinkage of massive concrete projects, dams for exam-ple, and hence improve their security, durability. The results also show that the double-expansivemoderate heat Portland cement should be further studied and improved to retard its ettringite expan-sion, accelerate its periclase expansion and increase its total expansion magnitude.
