Modeling and experimental validation of oil separation efficiency for multi-unit air conditioners

Abstract：Establishing a mathematical model of an oil separator can help designers evaluate its performance and optimize the design to achieve the best performance.The motion of oil droplets in the oil separator is analyzed,and a calculation model of oil separator efficiency based on residence time method is established in combination with the size distribution of droplets in the two-phase flow.At the same time,experimental tests are carried out to validate the model,and the deviation of the separation efficiency is not more than 5%.
