Abstract:[Objective]Aiming at the problems of narrow working space and large load fluctuation of thin coal seam shearers, which impose strict requirements on the volume compactness and transmission performance of the cutting unit transmission device, straight tooth single point-line meshing gears were adopted to replace traditional involute gears, and load-carrying characteristic analysis was carried out to improve the load-carrying capacity and operation stability of the transmission system.[Methods]Firstly,three-dimensional models of straight tooth single point-line meshing gears and straight tooth involute gears were established based on the tooth profile generation principle, providing a geometric basis for subsequent strength analysis.Secondly, the modified Hertz contact and cantilever beam calculation methods were used to calculate the tooth surface contact stress and tooth root bending stress at different meshing positions, obtaining theoretical strength data.Then,co-simulation was conducted via HyperMesh software and Ansys Workbench software to compare and verify the theoretical calculation results, ensuring the accuracy of the analysis. Finally, tooth profile modification research was carried out to optimize the meshing characteristics of the gears.[Results]The results show that after adopting straight tooth single point-line meshing gears, the maximum tooth surface contact stress decreases from 1 278.6 MPa to 1 245.4 MPa,a reduction of 2.59%;the maximum tooth root bending stresses of the pinion and idler decrease from 344.04 MPa and 341.4 MPa to 274.49 MPa and 305.78 MPa,with reductions of 20.21%and 10.43%respectively;the stress concentration on the tooth surface and tooth root is improved. After tooth profile modification, the tooth tip contact stress is significantly reduced, and the stress concentration is obviously alleviated.Under the condition of similar structural parameters, the modified straight tooth single point-line meshing gears can significantly improve the load-carrying capacity of the transmission system of thin coal seam shearers.
