Abstract:Objective:To investigate the incidence and influencing factors of sarcopenia(SP)in non-acute stroke patients in community rehabilitation institutions. Methods:A cross-sectional study was conducted, selecting 156 non-acute stroke patients admitted to the Nan'ao Rehabilitation Institution of Shenzhen Second People's Hospital,Dapeng New District, from August 2023 to June 2024.Patients were divided into the SP group and the non-SP group by using the strength, assistance with walking, rising from a chair, climbing stairs, and falls(SARC-F)sarcopenia screening questionnaire.General demographic data, laboratory indicators, and anthropometric data were collected.Univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to compare the differences between the two groups and analyze the influencing factors of SP.Results:The incidence of SP in non-acute stroke patients was 59.61%,with a significantly higher prevalence in males than in females(64.50%vs 35.50%,P<0.05).Multivariate analysis showed that Activities of Daily Living(ADL)score at admission[OR=0.932,95%CI(0.901,0.965),P<0.001],albumin/globulin ratio[OR=0.057,95%CI(0.009,0.380),P<0.001],and calf circumference[OR=0.682,95%CI(0.568,0.819),P<0.001]were independent influencing factors for SP.Conclusion:The incidence of SP is high in non-acute stroke patients in community rehabilitation institutions.Medical staff should focus on ADL score, low albumin/globulin ratio, and calf circumference at admission of stroke patients, and implement targeted muscle intervention measures to improve rehabilitation outcomes and enhance patients' quality of life.
