Abstract:Objective:To review the relevant studies regarding resistance exercise in maintenance hemodialysis patients, with the aim of providing reference for the development and implementation of standardized resistance exercise plans for them. Methods:The Chinese and English databases such as China National Knowledge Infrastructure(CNKI),CBM,PubMed,CINAHL,Embase, and the Cochrane Library were retrieved by computer. The retrieval period was from the establishment of the databases to April 1,2025.The included literatures were screened and summarized, and a scope review was conducted. Results:A total of 27 literatures were included, among which 23 were randomized controlled trials and 4 were quasi-experimental studies.Resistance exercise were conducted three times weekly, each with a duration of approximately 30 minutes, and the overall exercise program spanned 12 weeks.Resistance exercise had varying degrees of improvement in muscle strength, muscle mass, biochemical indicators, physical function, psychological state, and quality of life in maintenance hemodialysis patients, while also having certain safety and effectiveness. Conclusions:The application of resistance exercise in maintenance hemodialysis patients has integrity, effectiveness, and safety.Future medical personnel will further optimize resistance exercise intervention measures based on evidence and guided by scientific theories, develop safe, effective, and scientific individualized intervention plans, and further conduct large-scale,multi center,high-quality research to verify the impact of resistance training on ongoing hemodialysis patients.
