Best evidence summary on non-pharmacological traditional Chinese medicine interventions for insomnia disorders in cancer patients

Abstract:Objective:To retrieve and summarize the best evidence on non-pharmacological Traditional Chinese Medicine(TCM)interventions for insomnia disorders in cancer patients,providing a basis for effective intervention.Methods:Following the"6S"evidence resource pyramid model,a systematic top-down search was conducted for all evidence related to non-pharmacological TCM interventions for insomnia disorders in cancer patients.The quality of the included literature was evaluated,data was extracted,and evidence meeting the criteria was integrated.Results:A total of 15 publications were included,comprising 3 guidelines,2 expert consensus documents,1 evidence summary,and 9 systematic reviews.The summarized evidence included 29 items across 5 aspects,comprising acupoint stimulation therapy,traditional Chinese exercise therapy,muscle relaxation therapy,music therapy,and other TCM external treatment therapies.Conclusion:This study summarizes the evidence on non-pharmacological TCM interventions for insomnia in cancer patients,which can provide an evidence-based foundation for clinical healthcare professionals to implement these interventions,improve insomnia in cancer patients,and enhance their quality of life.
