Mediating effect analysis of resilience on nurses'self-efficacy and their emergency response capacity in public health emergencies

Abstract:Objective:To explore the relationship among nurses resilience,self-efficacy,and their emergency response capacity in public health emergencies.Methods:A total of 321 nurses in emergency department or intensive care department from 6 grade A tertiary hospitals in different regions were selected by convenience sampling method from April to May 2023.General data questionnaire,self-rating scale of response capacity in public health emergency,General Self-Efficacy Scale(GSES),resilience scale were used to conduct questionnaire survey.Statistical software SPSS 26.0 and AMOS 28.0 were used for data analysis.Results:The direct effect of self-efficacy on nurses emergency response ability in public health emergencies was 0.310[95%CI(0.128,0.479)].The mediating effect of resilience between nurses'self-efficacy and their emergency response ability in public health emergencies was 0.353[95%CI(0.182,0.514)],accounting for 53.24%of the total effect.Conclusions:Nurses'emergency response ability in public health emergencies is partially influenced by their self-efficacy,and this influence is mediated by resilience.Nursing managers or educators can enhance nurses'emergency response ability in public health emergencies by enhancing their resilience.
