Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of neurotic personality on sleep quality in postoperative patients with surgery for early-stage cervical cancer and the mediating effect of psychological capital. Methods:Postoperative patients with surgery for early-stage cervical cancertreated in the hospital from January 2021 to April 2023 were selected as the research subjectsby using the convenience sampling method. The general information questionnaire,Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index(PSQI),Chinese Big Five Personality Inventory-Brief Version-Neuroticism(CBF-PI-B-N),and Positive Psychological Capital Questionnaire(PPQ)were used for investigation.Pearson correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between sleep quality, neurotic personality, and positive psychological capital. The linear regression analysis was used to analyze the effect of neurotic personality on sleep quality and the mediating effect of positive psychological capital. The mediating effect was tested by Bootstrap method. Results:A total of 190 questionnaires were distributed,186 valid questionnaires, and the effective recovery rate was 97.89%.The PSQI score of 186 postoperative patients with surgery for early-stage cervical cancer was(7.76±2.98)points,the CBF-PI-B-N score was(21.32±6.08)points,and the PPQ score was(123.63±10.65)points.The PSQI score of postoperative patients with surgery for early-stage cervical cancer was significantly different in terms of age and monthly income per capita of the family(P<0.05).Sleep quality was positively correlated with neurotic personality(r=0.503,P<0.05)and negatively correlated with positive psychological capital(r=-0.731,P<0.05).Linear regression analysis adjusted for age and monthly income per capita of the family showed that neurotic personality positively affected sleep quality(β=0.222,P<0.05)and negatively affected positive psychological capital(β=-1.259,P<0.05);neurotic personality and positive psychological capital jointly affected sleep quality(P<0.05),explaining 55.8%of the variance. The mediating effect shows that the mediating effect value of positive psychological capital is 0.145[95%CI:(0.104,0.195)],and the mediating effect accounts for 65.31%.Conclusions:Neurotic personality could directly predict the sleep quality of postoperative patients with surgery for early-stage cervical cancer, which could also indirectly affect sleep quality through positive psychological capital.Positive psychological capital has a mediating role.
