A scoping review of factors influencing discharge readiness in stroke patients

Abstract:Objective:To summarize the influencing factors of discharge readiness of stroke patients in order to provide reference for future nursing intervention.Methods:The Chinese and English databases including PubMed,CINAHL,the Cochrane Library,Embase,CNKI,Wanfang,VIP and Chinese Biomedical Literature Database were searched by computer until October 6,2023.Literature that met the inclusion criteria was analyzed.Results:A total of 13 studies were included,with 26 subgroups of 6 themes,including demographic factors,disease-related factors,psychological factors,medical-related factors,social support factors and other factors.Conclusions:The factors influencing discharge readiness of stroke patients were complex and varied,the main factors influencing discharge readiness of stroke patients were age,education level,activities of daily living,cognitive impairment,number of comorbidities,quality of discharge guidance,and whether living alone.Secondary factors were marital status,sex,place of residence,economic condition,stroke type,patient anxiety and depression,information support,and self-management ability,some of which are still controversial.In clinical practice,attention should be paid to these influencing factors,and personalized intervention strategies should be developed according to them to improve patients'discharge readiness.
