Abstract:Objective:To evaluate hydrocolloid and foam dressings'effectiveness in preventing pressure skin injuries through a meta-analysis.Methods:Relevant literature was retrieved from CNKI,Wanfang Database,VIP Database,CBM,Duxiu,China Clinical Trial Registry,Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,ProQuest,Ovid(Medline),and Clinical Trials.gov,from the establishment of the database to March 22,2023.Two researchers independently screened the literature, extracted data, and evaluated the quality of the literature.A third researcher was asked to arbitrate whether to include the study if there were any objections. The meta-analysis of the included literature was performed using Review Manager 5.4 and Stata 15 software. Results:A total of 12 articles were included. The results of meta-analysis showed that there was a statistically significant difference in the cure rate of pressure skin injury between foam dressing and hydrocolloid dressing[RR=0.68,95%CI(0.52,0.91),P=0.008],indicating that the cure rate of hydrocolloid dressings was higher than that of foam dressings. There was a statistically significant difference between foam dressing and hydrocolloid dressing in the incidence of pressure skin injury, and the incidence of foam dressing in preventing pressure skin injury was higher than that of hydrocolloid dressing[RR=0.33,95%CI(0.22,0.49),P<0.001].Conclusions:The curative effect of hydrocolloid dressing and foam dressing on pressure skin injury needs to be further explored. The use of foam dressing can prevent the occurrence of pressure skin injury in patients with pressure skin injury or patients at high risk of pressure skin injury.
