Summary of best evidence on patients and caregivers participating in pain assessment

Abstract:Objective:lo retrieve and integrate relevant domestic and international evidence on patients'and caregivers'participating in pain assessment,so as to provide evidence support for clinical work.Methods:The pertinent evidence of patients'and caregivers'involvement in pain assessment was systematically searched from domestic and foreign database and websites according to the 6S Pyramid.UpToDate,BMJ Best Practice,Cochrane Library,Joanna Briggs Institute Library,National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence,The Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality,Medlive,PubMed,Web of Science,CINAHL,Embase,Chinese Biomedical Literature Database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang,VIP,and related association websites were searched for clinical decision making,guidelines,systematic reviews,Meta-analysis and evidence summaries.The search time limit was from January 2011 to March 2023.Two researchers independently evaluated the quality of relevant literature,and combined professional judgment to extract the best evidence from the final included literature.Results:A total of 28 articles were involved,including 16 guidelines,1 expert consensus,11 systematic reviews,and 25 pieces of the best evidence were formed on inform-activate-cooperate in three aspects.Conclusions:The best evidence summarized in this paper is scientific and practical,and medical staff can follow the best evidence to guide patients and caregivers to participate in pain assessment and promote implementing evidence-based practice.
