Abstract:Objective:To evaluate the applied effect of auricular point acupressure on symptom clusters in colostomy patients.Methods:80 colostomy patients who treated in our department from July 2015 to October 2016 were selected as the research object, and they were randomized into a control group and an observation group,40 cases in each one.Patients in the control group received routine nursing care.Patients in the observation group received auricular point acupressure on the basis of routine nursing.Chinese version of the M.D.Anderson Symptom Inventory(MDASI-C)was used to evaluate the symptoms of colostomy patients before and 2 weeks after intervention. Results:After intervention, most of the symptoms related to cancer were improved in both of the two groups,in which, the improvement of pain, fatigue, sleep and drowsiness in the observation group were superior to those in the control group (all P<0.05).Conclusion: The addition of auricular pressure on the basis of routine nursing could improve the cancer-related symptoms of colorectal cancer patients, which was helpful to the management of the symptom cluster of colorectal cancer patients.
