Study on effect of continuing education on discharged patients with diabetes mellitus
Abstract:Objective:To probe into the effect of continuing education on discharged patients with diabetes mellitus.Methods:A total of 75 cases of discharged patients with DM were randomly divided into experimental group(n=39) and control group (n=36).The patients in experimental group 1 times a week,every 2 h of follow-up,follow-up including diabetes knowledge training,monitoring of blood glucose,body weight,blood pressure,waist and hip circumference,guidance to provide self management.Each time the number of 12 to 16 people,followed up for a number of 12 times,for a period of 3 months.Patients in the control group were followed up by the return visit to the hospital and the diabetes specialist nursing clinic.Then,the fasting blood glucose,2 h postprandial blood glucose,glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c),readmission rate,and patient satisfaction with the hospital were compared before and after the intervention.Results:The fasting blood glucose and glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c) were significantly higher in the experimental group than those in the control group (P<0.05).The rate of readmission in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group (P<0.05).Experimental group overall satisfaction hospital than the control group,the difference was statistically significant (P<0.01).Conclusion: Continuing education of patients with discharged diabetes could promote the patient's monitoring indicators of compliance.And it could reduce rehospitalization rates,reduce medical expenses,and improve the patient's overall satisfaction with the hospital.
