Relationship among professional identity level and coping style and job burnout of CCU nurses

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the relationship among professional identity level and coping style and job burnout of CCU nurses.Methods:A total of 40 cases of CCU nurses and 50 cases of nurses in cardiology depart-ment were investigated by using the professional identity scale,coping style scale and job burnout scale (MBI). The professional identity,coping style scale and job burnout of nurses in different departments were compared and analyzed.Pearson univariate analysis was used to analyze the relationship among occupational identity and coping style and job burnout in CCU nurses.Results:Professional awareness evaluation,professional social skills,professional social support,professional self reflection,occupational setback response and total score of CCU nurses were lower than those in control group.Latency scores of coping styles such as self blame,illu-sion,withdrawal and rationalization were lower in CCU nurses than those in control group (P< 0.05),CCU nurses to personality,emotional consumption latitude score higher than the control group (P< 0.05),while personal accomplishment was lower in the CCU nurses than that in control group (P< 0.05).Conclusion:The level of professional identity of CCU nurses was lower than that of cardiology nurses,which was related to the negative coping style and obvious job burnout.Nursing managers could improve the professional identity of CCU nurses and promote them positively facing with the problems in work,thereby reducing their sense of j ob burnout.
