Correlation study on social support,disease cognition and quality of life of patients with bronchial asthma

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the relationship among social support,disease cognition and quality of life of patients with bronchial asthma.Methods:A total of 120 patients with bronchial asthma were selected by the con-venience sampling method from January 2014 to June 2015.The patients were investigated by using the Xiao’s social support scale,the asthma disease cognitive scale and the simple health scale(SF 3 6 ).Pearson single fac-tor analysis was used for the relationship among disease cognition,social support and quality of life of patients with bronchial asthma.Results:The total score of disease cognition in 120 cases was 54.28±2.85.The total score of social support,subjective support score,objective support score and support utilization score were 38.98±4.63, 20.12±3.89,8.14±0.89,7.02±2.56.The SF 36 score in all dimensions respectively,was 58.63±4.89 in the physiological function,56.78±5.36 in physiological functions,60.12±6.78 in body pain,59.12±6.23 in general health,52.48±3.45 in vitality,53.98±4.96 in social function,56.89±5.44 in emotional function,53.48±6.02in mental health.The Pearson single factor analysis showed that the total score of social support was positively cor-related with disease recognition score,overall health and social function(P<0.05).Support utilization was posi-tively correlated with Herth total score and overall health(P<0.05).Conclusion:The degree of social support was closely related to the cognition and quality of life of patients with bronchial asthma,and good social support was helpful to improve the disease cognition and the quality of life of patients.
