The influence of group cognitive behavioral intervention on the activation and self management behaviors in pa-tients with type 2 diabetes
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the influence of group cognitive behavioral intervention on the activation and self management behaviors in patients with type 2 diabetes.Methods:Eighty patients with type 2 diabetes were questionnaired by Patient Activation Measure (PAM)and Diabetes Self Care Scale (DSCS).The levels of blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin were observed.Results:After intervention,the scores of PAM and DSCS in patients with type 2 diabetic increased while the levels of fasting blood glucose,postprandial 2 h glucose and glycated hemoglobin decreased.Conclusion:Group cognitive behavioral intervention can increase the degree of activation and improve the self management skills in patients with type 2 diabetes,which will help to control blood sugar.
