The effects of self efficacy and coping style intervention on quality of life in patients with maintenance hemodialysis

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effects of self efficacy and coping style intervention on quality of life in pa-tients with maintenance hemodialysis.Methods:Total 120 patients with maintenance hemodialysis were ran-domly divided into control group(n=60)and observation group(n=60).The control group was given conven-tional hemodialysis nursing,which is the basis,the observation group was given bonus intervention of self effi-cacy and coping style.After six months,the self efficacy,coping style and quality of life scores were evaluated using the general self efficacy scale (GSES),Medical Coping Modes Questionnaire (MCMQ)and Health Sur-vey Scale (SF 36).Results:The self efficacy,facing coping,avoidance coping,and the quality of life scores and all dimensions scores in observation group were significantly higher than those of control group.The yield response score in observation group was lower than that in control group,which the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05 ).Conclusion:The intervention of self efficacy and coping style could significantly im-prove the quality of life in patients with maintenance hemodialysis.
