Qualitative research on true feelings of junior nurses after needle stick injuries

Abstract:Objective:To probe into the true feelings of junior nurses after needle stick injuries in clinical prac-tice,and analyze the causes of needle stick injuries and the its impact on junior nurses,so as to probe into the education and protection measures.Methods:The phenomenological research method in qualitative research was used to analyze the true feelings of 8 junior nurses after needle stick injuries.Results:The true feelings of junior nurses after needle stick injuries included the worry,fear,self blame,reflection,hoping to get care and help, and strengthening the support systems.Conclusion:In order to reduce the incidence of needle stick injuries,the hospital should concern about junior nurses,psychological status,strengthen the occupational safety protection awareness,improve their nurse patient communication skills and pay more attention to the supervision of jun-ior nurses’implementation of rules and regulations,perfect focus sessions and link management.
