Comparative study on occupational values of nurses in public hospitals and private hospitals

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the status quo of occupational values of nurses in public hospitals and private hospitals and probe into the influencing factors and compare their difference between public hospital and private hospitals.Methods:A total of 135 clinical nurses were selected from 4 public and private hospitals in Wuhan city by using the convenience sampling method.The questionnaire survey was used,and the data were statistically analyzed.Results:Public and private hospitals nurses scored the highest in the affective values;the material type values of nurses in public hospitals had higher scores than that of private hospital nurses (P <0.05).The influ-encing factors of occupational values of nurses in public hospitals were working years and title(P <0.05):the longer working years,the higher score;the higher title,the higher score.The influencing factor of occupational values of nurses in private hospitals was education level (P <0.05):the higher education level was,the lower the score was.Conclusion:Nurses in public hospitals are more concerned with the material values,and the nurses in private hospitals pay more attention to their own values.
