Investigation on psychological distress in lung cancer patients with chemotherapy

Abstract:Objective:To describe the level of psychological distress in lung cancer patients with postoperative chemotherapy and to probe into the influencing factors of psychological distress.Methods:In this study,the psy-chological distress thermometer (Chinese version)was used.It investigated the psychological distress of 32 ca-ses of lung cancer patients with postoperative chemotherapy and analyzed its influencing factors.Results:1 9 ca-ses of patients (59.4%)had different degrees of psychological distress (moderate,severe,very severe were 15 cases,3 cases,1 case).The average score of psychological distress was 2.50 ±d 4.50,the main reasons included emotional problems and physical problems.A single factor analysis of variance in general data and psychological distress showed that the effect of chemotherapy regimen for the psychological distress of lung cancer patients with postoperative chemotherapy was statistically significant (P =0.01 1).Conclusion:Most of lung cancer pa-tients with postoperative chemotherapy have psychological distress.Psychological distress mainly is moderate level.Medical personnel should pay attention to and carry out individual nursing intervention according to the cause of psychological distress of patients,so as to reduce their psychological distress.
