Reliability and validity test of Short Form Chinese version PAID scale used for elderly patients with type 2 diabetes

Abstract：Objective:To introduce the Taiwan version of short form Chinese version problem areas in diabetes (SF PAID C)and carry out the reliability and validity test of short form Chinese SF PAID C.Methods:A total of 1 18 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes were recruited and investigated with SF PAID C.SPSS 17.0 software was used for statistical analysis and to test the reliability and validity.Results:All item content validity Index (I CVI)of the SF PAID C ranged from 0.80 to 1.00.The SF PAID C significantly correlated with the DDS and CES D.The Cronbach’sαcoefficient of the total SF PAID C was 0.80 and the retest reliability was 0.95 after two weeks.Conclusion:The SF PAID C has good reliability and validity in elderly patients with type 2 diabetes.It can be used as a clinical and research instrument for measuring diabetes related emotion-al problems in mainland Chinese elderly patients with type 2 diabetes,and will provide the basis for clinical nursing workers assessing diabetes and promoting diabetes management.
