Influence of continuing nursing intervention on MMSE and ADL score of the aged with mild cognitive impairment
Abstract:Objective:To probe into the influence of continuing nursing intervention on the Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE)score and Activities of daily living (ADL)score of the aged with mild cognitive impair-ment (MCI).Methods:A total of 40 old patients with MCI were randomly divided into study group and control group,20 cases in each. The patients in control group received routine medication treatment and nursing guil-dance.The patients in study group were given continuing nursing intervention based on routine treatment and nursing. Both groups of patients were evaluated by MMSE scores and ADL scores of cognitive function on ad-mission and after 4 weeks of intervention. Results:There was no significant difference in MMSE score and ADL score on admission (P >0.05);the total MMSE score and ADL score in study group were higher than that in control group after 4 weeks of intervention (P <0.001).There was statistically significant difference in MMSE score and ADL score between after continuous nursing intervention and on their own admission (P <0.001 ). Conclusion:Continuing nursing intervention is a effective plan for old patients with MCI,which can improve the cognitive abilities and activities of daily life of them.
