Abstract:Objective:To probe into the influence of application of specialist peripherally inserted central venous catheter (PICC)nursing group mode on PICC quality of patients in department of gastroenterology. Methods:A total of 136 cases of PICC patients were selected as control group before the establishment of specialist PICC nursing group, while observation group included another 128 cases of PICC patients after the establishment of PICC nursing group. To record and compare the puncturing catheter time, catheter hemorrhage, pass rate of disposable catheter, indwelling catheter time, non planned extubation rate, incidence of mechanical phlebitis in patients between both groups. Results:The puncturing catheter time, non planned extubation rate, incidence of mechanical phlebitis and catheter hemorrhage in observation group were significantly lower than that in control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05).The success rate of disposable catheter and indwelling catheter time in observation group were significantly higher than that in control group, and the difference was also statistically significant( P <0.05).Conclusion:The application of specialist PICC nursing group mode can improve the technical level of catheter, prolong the indwelling catheter time, reduce occurrence of mechanical phlebitis.Patients in department of gastroenterology will use PICC more safely and effectively.
