Appl ication of volunteers peer support in health education for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients

Abstract：Obj ective:To probe into application of volunteers peer support in health education for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)pa-tients.Methods:A total of 70 cases of COPD patients were randomly divid-ed into observation group and control group based on random number ta-ble,3 5 cases in each.Patients in control group received conventional health education,besides that,patients in observation group received volunteers peer education,then to compare the health education to improve the disease situation in two groups of patients between before and after the interven-tion.Results:The smoking cessation,home oxygen therapy respiratory functional training intervention and psychological intervention after inter-vention in patients in observation group were better than that in control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclu-sion:volunteer peer educators can help COPD patients to improve self care capacity,and it is a useful way for health education on COPD patients.
