Observation on expectoration effect of 1.25% sodium bicarbonate solution aerosol inhalation for patients with COPD
Abstract:Objective:To observe the secondary effect of 1.25% sodium bi-carbonate aerosol inhalation on sputum exclusion in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)in acute exacerbation. Methods:A total of 83 cases of patients with acute exacerbation of COPD were random-ly divided into observation group (42 cases)and control group (41 cases). Patients in control group used compound ipratropium bromide solution and ambroxol inhalation based on conventional medical treatment;the patients in observation group received 1.25% sodium bicarbonate solution atomiza-tion on the basis of control group's treatment. The 24 h sputum volume was compared between both groups on the first day,the first three days, the first 7 days after treatment, lung function after one week, pulmonary rales re-duced and disappeared time, temperature returned to normal time, routine blood test recovery time and hospital time. Results:The sputum volume of patients in observation group on the first three days was more than that in control group significantly (P<0.01);lung function of patients in observa-tion group after hospitalized one week was significantly better than that in control group (P<0.05 or P<0.01);control group of patients with clinical symptoms control required time, the required time to body temperature re-store normal, blood normal required time and the length of hospital stay were significantly shorter than those in control group (P<0.05).Conclu-sion:Sodium bicarbonate combined with compound Ipratropium Bromide solution and Ambroxol atomizing inhalation can dilute sputum, improve the effect of sputum exclusion, improve lung function and shorten hospitaliza-tion time of COPD patients.
