Abstract：It introduced the history of American Diabetes specialist care, training and certification system and operating modes.It pointed out that the USA as the most advanced countries with development of specialist care has formed a complete diabetes specialist nursing training and certifi-cation system.China should combine national conditions, learn from suc-cessful experiences of the United States and strengthen its functions for establishing and clear the diabetes specialist nurse (DSN)in the develop-ment of academic authority system, while further clarify and improve.a clear concept, training mode, qualification certification system and nurses functional roles.
