Influence of establ ishment of patients club on compl ications with pipe in PICC catheter patients

Abstract：Obj ective:To probe into the influence of establishment of patients club on complications with pipe in PICC catheter patients. Methods:A total of 440 cases of PICC catheter patients were randomly divided into observation group and control group.Patients in control group received routine care,patients in observation group joined into patients club were given targeted cognition intervention on the basis of routine care.The self care scale (ESCA)was used for the self care ability score,and to compare the incidence of catheter complications of patients between two groups.Results:The total ESCA scores,self care skills,self concept and health knowledge scores of patients after j oining in patients club in observation group were higher than that before joining (P<0.05);the incidence of catheter complications in patients in observation group was lower than that of control group (P<0.05). Conclusion:health education model for PICC catheter patient club can improve self care capacity of PICC catheter patient and reduce the in-cidence of complications.
