Survey and analysis of Master’s nursing education curriculum in the United States

Abstract：Obj ective:To investigate and analyze the master's nursing educa-tion curriculum in some nursing colleges in the United States,so as to pro-vide the evidences for reform of Master's nursing education curriculum in China.Methods:According to the ranked nursing colleges in U.S.in 2011, the top 1 0 institutions were selected,and the network information survey was used to investigate and analyze Master's nursing education curriculum. Results:In accordance with the CIP2010 and AACN curriculum standards and the basic elements of nursing Master education,the core courses,ad-vanced nursing core courses and specialist nursing curriculum were taken as framework for curriculum in all the schools.Conclusion:The master's nursing education curriculum in the United States reflected the direction of specialty disciplines of the master's nursing programs.It has normative and professional characteristics.Nursing educators in China should draw on the experience of American nursing schools and combine with the Chinese na-tional conditions to reasonablely set up the two disciplines of nursing and professional direction,formulate general requirements of the curriculum and curriculum standards.
