Abstract:Power load forecasting is an important part of power system planning ,and the foundation of the economic operation ,which is extremely important for power system planning and operation .Accurate forecasting method can guaran‐tee energy savings and avoid wasting resources .It can also relieve a significant impact caused by energy shortages .In this pa‐per ,in order to achieve better load forecasting method we study the application of fractal theory in the power load .The frac‐tal collage theorem and fractal interpolation method are applied to the electric load forecasting .The fractal theoretical model is proposed and the fractal interpolation prediction model is obtained .In order to verify the validity of fractal interpolation method ,the fractal interpolation model and the BP neural network model are compared .Finally ,the simulation shows that the fractal interpolation prediction has higher accuracy and the relative prediction error is smaller .The fractal theory can be well applied in power system load forecasting and the forecast is better than BP neural network prediction model .
