Abstract:Artificial ground freezing(AGF)technology relies on the average temperature of the freezing curtain as a critical parameter for evaluating freezing effectiveness and structural safety. To assess the applicability of existing theoretical models under ultra-low temperature(-50 ℃)freezing conditions, this study conducted model tests and theoretical analyses to compare the prediction accuracy of classi-cal algorithms including the Trubaczov model,Bakholdin model,"Chengbing"formula, and equivalent cross-section method. Results demonstrate that the"Chengbing"formula maintains predic-tion errors below 8%under both conventional and ultra-low temperature conditions. However, its ac-curacy significantly deteriorates when refrigerant flow rates drop below 3 m3/h due to altered heat transfer mechanisms.Meanwhile,Bakholdin-derived models(e.g.,equivalent trapezoidal and triangular meth-ods)systematically underestimate temperatures by approximately 25%compared to measured values,as they neglect the time-varying effects of latent heat during phase transitions. This research clarifies the applicability limitations of traditional models in ultra-low temperature freezing scenarios, providing theoretical foundations for optimizing engineering design in ultra-low temperature freezing projects.
